WingSUP in the Ria Formosa

Another amazing way to get to know the Ria Formosa Natural Park is to travel over the water and gain a new perspective on its colours, sounds, views and silences. The paddleboard under your feet and the wing in your hands let you float and ride the wind in a new, challenging and fun way.

Even if you’ve never tried it before, the chances of finishing your WingSUP session with a big smile on your face are far from slim.

You can choose between two experiences with us:

• A 1h30 WingSUP experience
• A 2h30 experience and 4 km tour from Cabanas to Fábrica (or the other way round if the wind demands it)

WingSUP is more than a sport: it’s an experience that awakens all the senses. Standing on the board with the wing in your hands, you feel the wind gently pushing you, the sun reflecting on the water and the sounds of the Ria Formosa around every move. It’s a blend of freedom and balance, where every metre stops being just effort and becomes a pure connection with nature.

For those who have never tried it, it’s surprisingly accessible: you quickly learn to control the wing, feel the wind and glide over the water. But the magic isn’t only in the technique — it’s in floating over the lagoon, surrounded by birds, salt pans and islands, with the horizon opening up ahead. It’s the freedom of flying over the water without leaving it.

When the wind blows at least 6/8 knots from the southwest, the WingSUP downwind from Cabanas to Fábrica is mind-blowing. All our gear will help make your 4 km memorable, even if you have never paddleboarded or used a wing before.

Once in Fábrica, we head back together to Cabanas (the starting point) in our van — no need to worry about transport. We promise you and your family will have another story to tell at the end of this adventure.
