Private or semi-private lessons only, with radio coaching, in a 300 m zone licensed for teaching on Cabanas de Tavira island.
Learn to kitesurf the fun and safe way
Since 2004, leading people and friends into the world of kitesurfing has been a true pleasure. We keep rethinking our methods so we can reach everyone as easily as possible, in one of the best spots in the world to learn: Cabanas de Tavira island, in the Algarve.
Whatever your level — even if you’ve never held a kite — we adapt our lessons and teaching strategies to your learning speed and style.

Private or semi-private lessons only, with radios
Because excellence is our goal, we don’t run group lessons and we don’t believe in mass teaching: we only offer private or semi-private lessons, whether you are a beginner or almost independent. We teach according to IKO and Portuguese Sailing Federation (FPVela) standards.
We use radios during lessons so we can always communicate effectively with you. And our 300 m zone on Cabanas island, licensed for kitesurf teaching and practice, gives you peace of mind and safety throughout your time with us.
Why does Tavira have the best wind in the Algarve?
In the Sotavento (eastern) Algarve, and particularly around Tavira, you find the best wind conditions in the Algarve for learning and practising kitesurfing. For most of spring and summer the wind typically blows between 12 and 16 knots from the southwest (SW), a side-on-shore direction — from the sea towards the coast — which is also ideal in terms of safety.
Coming straight off the ocean, the wind arrives clean, stable and almost gust-free (as long as there are no clouds), because there are no mountains, buildings or uneven terrain to disturb it. The eastern Algarve benefits from a sea-breeze pattern that usually swings to the southwest around midday and builds gradually until close to sunset, keeping conditions moderate and predictable.
In many parts of the western Algarve, by contrast, the prevailing wind is from the northwest (NW): it blows from land to sea and crosses the Serra de Monchique before reaching the coast. That path over the hills creates turbulence, gusts and changes in strength, making the wind inconsistent and sometimes even dangerous for kitesurfers. That is why the coast of Tavira and the Ria Formosa islands is considered one of the safest and most consistent spots to learn and ride.
Kitefoil
You can also take your first kitefoil steps with us. In that case we suggest you bring your own kite to get the most out of the lesson — we’ll have the board. If you prefer, you can always ride with our gear.

BRAVE 60+: it’s never too late
From 2026 we are championing active ageing. If you are 60 or over — or you know someone the word BRAVE fits perfectly — share this with them.
Sandra, our most experienced instructor and the person behind the Eolis dream, teaches the BRAVE 60+ lessons. The pack includes 9 private 2-hour lessons (18 hours in total) plus our e-book “Safety in Kitesurf”. Dare to invest in healthy, transformative ageing.
And before you think you’re too old for this adventure: our most senior student is 75! If you are a grandparent and would love a kite-flying experience with your grandchild, we have 2.5 m² and 6 m² kites ready for you.

Top gear, included
During lessons you’ll have the best gear at your disposal, to help you reach for the stars. Wetsuit, harness, leash and helmet are mandatory and included, as is insurance.
