A dragon in the Algarve hills
Seen from the air, it makes you blink twice… it’s as if it can’t be real: the shape of a dragon emerges from the Algarve hills when seen from high above.
The need to store more water for the Algarve’s dry, hot years made this landscape a reality. In 1997 the water filled the valleys and the dragon began to wake up. Today, in rainy winters, as the water level rises, the dragon’s tail grows longer.
The sound of silence
The paddleboard tours we share with you in this enigmatic work of nature and man are a dip into the silence of our hills. We rarely find anyone else on the water, so we can enjoy almost complete silence from civilisation. All you hear is the water, the wind and the birds.
It brings an incredible feeling of peace and quiets the torrent of thoughts. Something we should all try every month. Please note that we only run these tours from October to April.
Programme

- 9:30 am — Departure from Eolis in Cabanas de Tavira (40-minute drive in our van)
- 10:15 am — Setting up and paddleboard tour
- 1 pm — Lunch at a traditional restaurant in Odeleite
- 3 pm — Return to Eolis in Cabanas de Tavira
